(and the search for light)

Gathering Light in the Dark

I recently read about an artist who used sunlight to create breathtaking pieces of art. His creative ideas overflowed within him, but the only way he could bring them to life on the canvas was by using a magnifier to capture and focus light of the sun.

Just as that creator gathered light to spark a fire that left a forever impression, creatives must do the same.

Every creative heart needs a circle where the loneliness of the calling can be spoken aloud and understood. A place where sparks are protected, refined, and encouraged. A community where iron sharpens iron so the light reflecting from our creations grows stronger.  Ours is called the Sunlight Scribes.

"When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset."

~ Exodus 17:12 NIV
